Biofuels 2008

Award Document

From 28 to 30 October 2008 the Biofuels 2008 - 3rd annual Meeting, organised by the World Refining Association (WRA) took Place in Berlin.

About 200 representatives from industry, the United Nations, governments and the OECD participated.

Many new technologies have been presented, but also already proven concepts have been presented to the audience such as the one of the PPM Group with the Headquarter in Austria. Already twenty years ago the story of success started - since then biodiesel production plants are being built with PPM technology - at the "Biofuels 2008" this technology has seen fitting culmination to their work over the past years.

On behalf of the PPM group the "2008 Biofuels Technology Innovation of the year Award" was received by Christian Hemerka. This award is being given to those, who made the greatest contribution to a major biofuels technology development in the past.

We are very happy, to show you some pictures of the event and the presentation of the award.

Our Stand at the World Biofuels Forum 2008 in Prague

We had a stand at the World Biofuels Forum from 9. - 11th of June 2008 in Prague.

We heard many interesting presentations, for example that there is no competition between "plate and fuel tank" There is food for approx. 11 Billion people available, versus 6 Billion world population.

Further we heard, that the fallow land, also in Europe, is more than enough, to increase the proportion of biofuel.

Below you can see the photos.

Opening of the biggest Biodiesel unit with PPM Technology in Komárom

On Friday, the 25th of April 2008 the opening of the biggest unit for the production of  Biodiesel in the history of the Austrian company PPM took place in Komárom, Hungary.

The unit has a capacity of 150.000 tons / year and is also able to convert rape seed oil and even used cooking oil to Biodiesel.

This environmentalfriendly technology is no competition for the food production, because the rape seed is being taken from former fallow land.
